Marcellus Shale Coalition Accepts New Member
Michael Baker has been accepted as a member of the Marcellus Shale Coalition (MSC) which was founded in 2008 to promote the responsible development of the Marcellus Shale natural gas formation. The MSC consists of over 100 members representing natural gas producers, pipeline companies, services firms, and suppliers. Considered the single largest unconventional natural gas reserve in the world, the Marcellus Shale formation has estimated recoverable natural gas reserves of at least 489 trillion cubic feet across an area that includes all of West Virginia, most of Pennsylvania, New York's Southern Tier, and eastern Ohio.
Baker's Christine S. Mayernik, P.E., PMP, vice president and Pipelines & Utilities market service manager, said, "Throughout its 70-year history, Baker has delivered planning, surveying, permitting, engineering, and project/program management to a broad range of natural gas producers and pipeline operators nationwide. Our membership and support of the MSC represents a significant opportunity to further demonstrate our commitment to this important industry and to work directly with industry leaders and experts in areas such as well and surface use permitting, road maintenance, water sourcing and waste management."
