Wood Group Wins Turbine Maintenance Contract from Talisman

Wood Group Light Industrial Turbines Ltd, part of the Gas Turbine Services business of John Wood Group, has been awarded a long-term contract from Talisman Energy (UK) Limited to provide maintenance services for 45 gas turbines operated on seven Talisman North Sea assets. The contract, worth more than £10million over five years, covers the Beatrice, Buchan, Clyde, Tartan, Claymore and Piper fields, as well as the Flotta oil terminal.

Eight new positions will be created at WGLIT to fulfil the contract, including both offshore service engineers and onshore project support staff. The scope of the contract includes engine overhaul, field service, component repair, spare parts supply and inventory management.

David Baillie, Chief Executive of Wood Group Gas Turbine Services, said: "This contract demonstrates Wood Group's ability to apply its broad range of turbine skills to support Talisman's entire fleet of gas turbines, which includes Siemens/Alstom, Rolls-Royce, General Electric, Solar and Kongsberg equipment. The contract also highlights the value to the operator of having a single interface for all of its turbine maintenance needs."

Terry Alderton, WGLIT Managing Director, said: "We are delighted to have won this maintenance services contract with Talisman, one of the North Sea's major operators. We have supported selected Talisman turbines over the past two years, and look forward to building on our already strong relationship and to contributing to Talisman's continued success in the future."
