Husky Tests First Appraisal Well in South China Sea

Husky completed drilling and testing of the first appraisal well on the Liuhua 29-1 field. Drilled by the West Hercules semisub, the well reached a total vertical depth of 9,613 feet (2,930 meters) in a water depth of 2,510 feet (765 meters). The appraisal well tested natural gas at a restricted rate of 55 MMcf/d, indicating the well could potentially deliver 60 to 70 MMcf/d. Further appraisal drilling will be conducted later this year to increase the understanding of the recoverable resource and to provide a better understanding of the reservoir in order to plan a development for the field. The Liuhua 29-1 field is located on Block 29/26 in the South China Sea. Husky serves as the operator of the block, holding a 49% interest.
