Heerema Installs Nexen Buzzard Deck Offshore Scotland
A 7,165-ton (6,500-tonne) Buzzard production sweetening deck and bridge structures have left Hartlepool for its final offshore destination on the Buzzard oil field. The deck, measuring 197 feet (60 meters) long, 118 feet (36 meters) wide and 138 feet (42 meters) tall, will be installed on the 3,858-ton (3,500-tonne) jacket. Heerema Hartlepool was awarded the fabrication contract in March 2008 for the process deck, which includes a 550 tonne bridge with a length of 80 meters. Located on Blocks 19/10, 20/6, 19/5a and 20/1S in 328 feet (100 meters) of water, Buzzard is situated 62 miles (100 kilometers) northeast of Aberdeen and 34 miles (55 kilometers) from the nearest landfall at Peterheard.
