Aker Scores Safety Award
Aker Solutions has seen its commitment towards raising the bar for health and safety in the offshore industry rewarded with a coveted international award.
The Aberdeen-based organization has been presented with the British Safety Council's International Safety Award for the 12th consecutive year.
The prestigious accolade is awarded following a rigorous and independent assessment of an organization's health and safety policies and procedures. Businesses must demonstrate they have comprehensive health and safety policies in place, a clear commitment to health and safety from the boardroom to the shop floor and be committed to promoting a positive safety culture throughout the organization.
Charlie Ingram, vice president of HSE in Aker Subsea, said, "We are delighted to have received this award for 12 consecutive years, this demonstrates our continued hard work and the contribution made by each and every member of staff to sustain our health and safety culture."
Julie Nerney, chief executive of the British Safety Council, said, "For more than 50 years, the British Safety Council has led the way in promoting health, safety and environmental best practice in society. In the 21st century, many organizations worldwide are understandably making health, safety and environmental management their top priority. Through achieving an International Safety Award, Aker Solutions is helping to make our vision of a healthy and safe working environment a reality."
