Nigeria Appoints New Oil Minister

Nigeria has appointed Edmond Daukoru as the new Presidential Adviser on Petroleum Matters, to replace Rilwanu Lukman as the OPEC member country's top representative on oil and gas.

Daukoru was a former group managing director of Shell Nigeria and also former group managing director of state oil company Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation.

In a statement issued by the secretary to the federal government, Nigeria also announced the replacement of Jackson Gaius-Obaseki as head of NNPC with Funsho Kupolokun.

Kupolokun is a former special assistant to the president on petroleum and also former group executive director of NNPC.
