Bowleven Commences Drilling Offshore Cameroon
Bowleven commenced drilling operations on the Etinde Permit -- the Noble Tommy Craighead jackup is on location and the well is expected to spud on or around May 7, 2010. The objective of the well is to further appraise and confirm commerciality of the IE gas/condensate field. The IE-3 appraisal well will be drilled to an estimated target depth of about 9,186 feet (2,800 meters) and should take roughly 60 days. The appraisal well in Block MLHP-7 in the Rio Del Rey Basin is the first well in a multi-well drilling program planned for the Etinde during 2010. The Etinde Permit area comprises of three shallow water blocks (MLHP-5, MLHP-6 and MLHP-7) offshore Cameroon, West Africa.SubseaIQ provides focused, in-depth coverage of offshore field development activities around the world, with daily updates on hundreds of offshore fields and facilities.
