GL Noble Denton Sets Up Shop in Caribbean
Technical service provider for the oil and gas industry GL Noble Denton has opened an office in Port of Spain. With strong upstream and midstream capabilities across the complete asset lifecycle, GL Noble Denton already provides international oil majors, independent operators and E&C companies in the region with technical design, consulting, assurance and execution services.
"Trinidad and Tobago is the major producer of oil and natural gas in the Caribbean and a major exporter of LNG to the US and Spain", says GL Noble Denton's Country Manager Jeff Clark. "The country continues boosting its activities in the energy sector and is increasing its development in its downstream industry. There is an increasing demand for GL Noble Denton's services in this market environment." The portfolio of services offered from the new location in Trinidad includes technical assurance, advanced consulting and specialized engineering, marine consulting and operations and project execution.
Many projects have been initiated recently and now are commencing their implementation. With the newly opened offices GL is able to provide its services even closer to local customers, including the national and international developers.
Trinidad's economy is strongly influenced by the petroleum industry. Trinidad is the leading Caribbean producer of oil and gas; petroleum, petrochemicals and natural gas continue to be the backbone of the economy. In 2008, the country produced 165,420 barrels per day (bbl/d) of total oil production, of which 114,280 bbl/d was crude oil, the remainder mostly consisting of natural gas liquids (NGLs). Drilling depths have reached up to 7,000 m (23,000ft), while exploration continues to venture into water depths in excess of 150 m (500ft). "These types of environments pose specific technical challenges to the industry", says Clark. "We have already been engaged by several customers to assist them in dealing with highly localized marine issues which could not be resolved by traditional engineering approaches."
GL Noble Denton supports and assists oil and gas clients in all technical, safety and assurance related questions. This includes onshore production, onshore pipelines, storage, import terminals, LNG facilities, refineries and petrochemical plants, distribution networks as well as mobile offshore drilling units, floating production systems, fixed platforms, subsea and riser systems, offshore support vessels, tankers and shipping and offshore pipelines.
GL Noble Denton continues to extend its strong network in the Americas serving the oil and gas industry. The technical service provider is present in Brazil, the US, Mexico, Canada and Peru.
