Vermilion Energy Resumes Production from Shut in Gas Wells

Vermilion Energy Trust has resumed production from the Shane Kiskatinaw "D" pool. Approximately 1,600 boe per day of production net to the Trust was shut-in on August 6th in connection with an order by the Alberta Energy & Utilities Board following a dispute with an off-target producer. Clear Energy Inc. and TUSK Energy Inc., two of Vermilion's partners in the Pool, have subsequently purchased the off-target producer's interest in this pool.

The remaining pool participants negotiated a revised pooling agreement and subsequently the EUB lifted the shut-in order issued last month. As part of the new agreement, the Trust has agreed to transfer operatorship of the Pool to Clear effective October 1, 2003.
