Chevron Gets Green Light to Explore Polish Shale Gas

According to a release issued Friday, the Environment Ministry of Poland has granted U.S. industry heavyweight Chevron a natural gas exploration license, Dow Jones Newswires reports.

Spanning an area of 800 square kilometers in Poland, the five-year license allows Chevron to carry out seismic studies and exploratory drilling up to 3,500 meters underground, as well as to develop shale gas resources, the report noted.
