Origin Energy, on behalf of the T/18P Joint Venture, advised that the Trefoil 2 well reached total depth of 3,235m on Thursday, November 26, 2009, and that the current operation is plugging and abandoning the well. Several gas-bearing sandstones have been intersected within the targeted Eastern View Coal Measures. The significance of the well results will be determined over the coming months after the detailed analysis of cores, wireline logs, reservoir pressures and samples taken in the well.
The Kan Tan IV semisubmersible drilling rig will move from Trefoil to the Rockhopper 1 well location when abandonment operations are completed at Trefoil 2.
