Wood Group's IMV Mustang Atlantic Appoints General Manager
IMV Mustang Atlantic has appointed Tony Mercer to the position of general manager, effective October 5, 2009. Mr. Mercer will lead IMV Mustang Atlantic, managing projects and building and maintaining client relationships in Eastern Canada.
During his 20-year career in the oil & gas industry, Mr. Mercer has held senior engineering and project management positions in St. John’s and Houston. He has worked on projects for major international and Canadian oil companies in Eastern and Western Canada, the Gulf of Mexico, the North Sea and Asia.
"Tony brings strong local and international experience to IMV Mustang Atlantic," stated Mike Straughen, director of Wood Group's engineering activities. "His extensive background in project management, design, construction, commissioning and installation of offshore oil & gas facilities will contribute to the strong leadership at IMV Mustang Atlantic and provide excellent support to the many exciting projects being developed in the region."
Mr. Mercer is a native Newfoundlander and holds a degree in engineering from Memorial University of Newfoundland.
