EXCO-North Coast Welcomes 2 Industry Vets to Marcellus Play
EXCO-North Coast, a wholly-owned subsidiary of EXCO Resources, has added Jeff Cutler as General Manager, Drilling, and Ed Long as Manager, Production Engineering, to its Cranberry Twp., PA office.
"Jeff and Ed join us at an exciting time, as work developing our acreage in the Marcellus Shale is heating up," said Wendy Straatmann, President of EXCO-North Coast, and Vice President of EXCO's Appalachia Division. "Their combined industry knowledge of unconventional drilling and oil and gas plays around the country will help EXCO-North Coast provide additional expertise to our teams in the field."
Cutler comes to EXCO-North Coast from Occidental Oil & Gas Corp. in Grand Junction CO, where he supervised the company's drilling engineering functions in the Piceance Basin. He also worked with BP Exploration in Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay, AK, as an operations drilling engineer and rig supervisor. Cutler, who also has experience with True Drilling LLC of Casper, WY and Schlumberger's Ft. Morgan, CO office, is a graduate of the Montana College of Mineral Science & Technology, with a degree in petroleum engineering.
Long offers EXCO-North Coast more than 20 years experience with oil and gas well drilling. Most recently, he was senior operations engineer for Vantage Energy, LLC in Denver, CO. He has also held positions with Delta Petroleum Corp., Bill Barrett Corp and Tom Brown, Inc. Long holds a Master's degree in petroleum engineering from the University of Wyoming, and has served the Society of Petroleum Engineers as Technical Program Committee Session Chair for its Applied technology Workshop since 2005.
