iicorr Achieves 2MM Safe Working Hours
Staffs at integrity, inspection and corrosion specialist iicorr have successfully completed two million man-hours worked without any reportable accidents.
The Aberdeen-based company was established in 1995 and employs more than 200 people all over the world. Health and safety is at the heart of the business' ethos and in-depth training is carried out to ensure awareness of safe working practices.
Doug McKenzie, QHSE Manager at iicorr, said, "Everyone within our various teams, wherever they happen to be based, has worked hard to put safety at the forefront and help us achieve such an important milestone. Our managers have undoubtedly been the driving force in the promotion of a sustainable safety culture at iicorr, along with employee participation which has helped us achieve our ultimate safety goal."
"There has been increasing focus in recent years on asset maintenance within the oil and gas industry and so it remains important that we play our part to uphold and, where possible, improve safety standards."
Iicorr has a strong global reputation for innovation and developing new technology. Iicorr recently established an online Centre of Excellence to promote knowledge-sharing and best practice within the industry, with a view towards improving safety. Creation of the center followed reports by the UK Health and Safety Executive highlighting lack of knowledge-sharing in the industry.
