Gas Exports from SEAL Expected to Resume Thursday

The 476-kilometer Shearwater Elgin Area Line, or SEAL, is expected to resume exporting gas around 1500 GMT Thursday, according to a spokesperson from Total. The pipeline had been shut down for planned maintenance on August 1st and was supposed to resume operations on August 5th. However, safety checks are still being made at the pipeline and terminal.

SEAL links Shell's Shearwater Field and Total's Elgin and Franklin Fields in the North Sea to the Bacton gas terminal in southeastern England.
