Search Ongoing for Missing Oil Rig Worker from Brent Delta
A large scale search is underway for a missing person from the Shell-operated Brent Delta Platform, situated in the East Shetland Basin, 117 miles northeast of Shetland.
Aberdeen Coastguard received a call from the Platform at 11:32 am informing them of the missing person, who was last seen an hour previous.
George Downie, Watch Manager, Aberdeen Maritime Rescue Coordination Center, said, "We are currently coordinating the search for the missing man who is believed to be in water. We have a Nimrod in the area coordinating 2 other aircraft and there are 7 surface vessels assisting."
