Alan Curran Named CEO of Wood Group Engineering
Wood Group Engineering (North Sea) Ltd, a subsidiary of international energy services company John Wood Group PLC ("Wood Group"), has appointed Alan Curran as Chief Executive Officer where he will manage the portfolio of long-term contracts for Production Facilities in the North Sea, whilst leading the pursuit of new business opportunities. This follows the recent announcement that George Brown will move to take up the role of Director of Operations Excellence for Production Facilities, a newly created role to lead our ongoing focus on quality and excellence as we continue to grow our global capability. The appointment was effective March 23, 2009.
With more than 25 years of industry experience, Alan was most recently the Managing Director of Lundin Petroleum's UK business where he played a key role in establishing the company's capability to explore for, develop and produce oil & gas in the UK.
"I'm delighted to welcome Alan to Wood Group Engineering (North Sea)," said Les Thomas, Group Director responsible for Production Facilities. "He brings a wealth of professional experience in all aspects of the oil & gas business and is joining the Group at a critical time for the North Sea when he can use his broad experience to shape our value proposition for clients."
