Search Under Way for Missing Offshore Worker in North Sea
A search is currently underway for a missing person on the Beryl Alpha Offshore Platform in the North Sea.
Aberdeen Coastguard were informed of the missing person at 3:07am, following a muster station on the platform. The Beryl Platform is 90 miles south east of Shetland and is operated by Mobil North Sea.
The individual concerned was last seen at midnight. The Coastguard Rescue helicopter from Sumburgh is on scene as well as two offshore standby vessels, which are conducting a search, coordinated by Aberdeen Coastguard.
ExxonMobil's onshore emergency team is coordinating support services.
The weather conditions on scene have been light winds and good visibility.
