Pacific Tiger Acquires More Seismic Data on Wichian Buri

Pacific Tiger Energy has recently performed a small scale 2D seismic acquisition program within the Wichian Buri Oilfield area in Thailand using Geocon as the seismic contractor. The 2D seismic survey lines tied in existing producing wells and will be used to accurately locate and quality check downhole locations at the relevant reservoir levels. A total of five lines were acquired and have been processed in Australia. The mini-SOSIE seismic acquisition technique produces high-frequency seismic with good continuity of seismic reflectors down to approximately 1.2 seconds. This is one of the first times that this innovative acquisition technique has been used for oil industry purposes.

A new mini-SOSIE 3D seismic survey has also been planned and is located over a prospective area of the Wichian Buri North structure within the L43/33 exploration concession as yet still un-awarded. Acquisition of this survey is scheduled for commencement later in the year subject to licensing of L44/43. The accompanying map shows the relationship between the new survey with respect to the existing 3D survey upon which all of the wells have been drilled since Carnarvon's farm-in to the block.
