Aker Strengthens Geo Business with New President
Aker Solutions has appointed Erik Sverre Jenssen as president for its sub-surface consultancy Aker Geo AS.
Jenssen, 51, joins Aker Solutions from StatoilHydro, where he has held the position of platform manager at Oseberg field centre since 2005. Prior to this he spent five years as vice president for Norsk Hydro's North Sea asset area - including the Grane, Heimdal and Varg fields and Sture terminal - with responsibility for all phases of field development from exploration to production.
Jenssen has also held several senior positions in Saga Petroleum, including roles in petroleum technology and drilling as well as reservoir development and engineering. In total, he has more than 25 years' operational and management experience from the oil and gas industry.
Aker Solutions subsidiary Aker Geo AS delivers services through the whole subsurface value chain, from exploration to production. The unit comprises a team of 60 geologists, geophysicists and reservoir engineers. Its main fields of activity are geological and geophysical interpretation, petrophysics, reservoir modelling and simulation, wellsite geology as well as production technology and operations.
Jenssen will start in his new position on 1 January 2009.
