Frigstad Offshore Strengthens Organization, Names New COO
Singapore-based Frigstad Offshore has employed Stein Diesen as Chief Operating Officer from March 1, 2009.
Diesen comes from the position as Senior Vice President, Deepwater Units in Seadrill, responsible for the successful execution of Seadrill's extensive ultra deepwater rig construction projects consisting of 11 semisubmersibles and drill-ships built in Korea and Singapore since 2005.
From 2002 to 2005, Diesen was Managing Director for Smedvig Offshore's fleet of mobile offshore rigs. Prior to that, he held various senior management positions with Smedvig, Statoil and Aker in Norway and internationally, within projects, operations, procurement and business development; altogether 34 years of experience from the offshore and petroleum industries.
Diesen holds a BSc in electrical engineering and an MBA from BI Norwegian School of Management.
