TNK-BP Receives Certificates of Compliance with International Standards

The drilling and oilfield-service enterprises of TNK-BP received certificates of compliance with the international standards ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 from the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) and a certificate of compliance with the international standard OHSAS 18001 from the Norwegian accreditation and certification center Norsk, the press center of the company informed the new agency Prime-TASS.

These certificates confirm that the quality management systems, occupational health and industrial safety management systems, and ecological management systems of the oilfield enterprises of TNK-BP comply with the requirements of the international standards ISO 9000, OHSAS 18000, and ISO 14000, respectively.

The decision on certification of these enterprises was made by Moody International, an international company for certification of management systems, certification of products, provision of technical and inspection services, and technical training of specialists, after completion of a series of certification audits in July-September 2008.

Audits were conducted twice at the drilling and oilfield-service enterprises of TNK-BP concentrated in Nizhnevartovsk (Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area (Yugra)) and Buzuluk (Orenburg Region). The audited enterprises demonstrated solid management, high involvement of employees and managers in the management process, and efficient control and analysis of industrial and auxiliary processes.

Last year, the Oilfield Services stream of TNK-BP established an integrated management system at all its affiliated oil-service enterprises using elements of industrial development systems, financing systems, cost-efficiency support systems, environmental protection systems, and health and safety systems. Implementation of the integrated management system included additional training and retraining of employees and development of new work organization schemes.

Development and implementation of the integrated management system created all necessary conditions for successful operation of the enterprises in financial, industrial, ecological, and social environments owing to the fact that the integrated management system amalgamates and consolidates all interrelated activities and processes of the enterprises. Implementation of the integrated management system has increased the competitive edge of these enterprises, efficiency of their activities, and economy of all types of their resources.
