Saudi Aramco Names New General Manager of Public Affairs
Essam Z. Tawfiq, has been appointed general manager of Public Affairs at Saudi Aramco.
Tawfiq joined Saudi Aramco in 1985 in the Reservation Affairs Department after completing his bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering at King Saud University.
He held several positions in the Government Affairs organization, until 1995, when he became the manager of the Government Affairs Services Department.
In 1998, he was appointed manager of the Public Relations Department, serving until 2001, when he was named assistant to the president and CEO. Four years later, Tawfiq became the director of Personnel until his recent appointment as general manager of Public Affairs.
Tawfiq has had several developmental assignments, including the Executive Leadership program, the Advanced Management Program, the Global Business Program and the President's Leadership Challenge. He also joined the Executive Leadership Development Program at the Wharton Institute in the University of Pennsylvania.
