Rigzone Growth Leads to Launch of Bishop Interactive

In 1989, Oceandril Data Services was launched to provide offshore rig information to the oil and gas community. In 1999, Oceandril Data Services brought in a small team of developers to launch Rigzone.com and began providing rig information and other data services online. Since that time, Rigzone has grown from a small website frequented by a few thousand industry professionals to among the top 3% of all petroleum websites in the world (based on Alexa rankings) with more than 480,000 unique visitors each month.

While Rigzone has grown at a dramatic pace over the last eight years, the company has not rested on its laurels, launching four other oil and gas industry websites over the last two years. These include the refining- and petrochemical-oriented DownstreamToday, the offshore engineering-focused SubseaIQ, and the recently launched college job board OilGrads. With this growth in web traffic and web properties, the Rigzone family has grown from the core group of five web developers and industry experts to 20 employees managing a total of six different web properties.

In 2008, the need was identified to bring all of Rigzone's existing web properties, as well as newly developed sites, under a single organization. Launched today, Bishop Interactive, www.bishopinteractive.com , provides comprehensive information to marketers and industry professionals concerning Bishop's product offerings.
The Bishop team will continue to enhance Rigzone with new content and innovative features for the upstream oil and gas industry. The Bishop team will also continue to propel DownstreamToday, RigLogix, GOMExplorer, SubseaIQ and OilGrads.com. Furthermore, 2009 will see the launch of the "new" Rigzone site and several new energy sites.
