Spectrum Appoints New CFO
Spectrum has appointed Rhys Edwards (43) as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Edwards will start work on November 10 from Spectrum's Group Headquarters in Woking, UK. He will take over from Jon Elde of Global Geo Services (GGS), who had assumed the role of CFO since Spectrum's demerger from GGS in July 2008.
Spectrum's Chief Executive Officer (CEO) David Rowlands commented, "I am very pleased to have found in Rhys Edwards the skills, dedication and experience necessary to implement our plans for growth as a self-sufficient listed company."
Edwards commented, "Spectrum has a strong balance sheet and the seismic services market is currently particularly buoyant. We aim to capitalize on the strength of this market whilst maintaining good cash flow and
lower risk and this will underpin sustained organic growth and where appropriate, acquisition."
Edwards previously served as CFO of oil trading software provider OILSpace Ltd, where he oversaw an increase in turnover of 35% and turned the loss-making operation into a profitable business. Prior to his role within OilSpace Ltd, Edwards occupied numerous positions managing pubic limited company finance, mergers and acquisitions. He has 20 years' experience in various senior financial management roles.
