Chet Morrison Contractors Hires New CEO
Chet Morrison Contractors announced that Martin R. Ferron has been hired as Chief Executive Officer of the Company and its affiliates effective November 3, 2008. The Company also announced that Ferron has been elected a director of the Company effective with his commencement of employment. Chet Morrison, founder of the Company, will assume the title of Executive Chairman. Ferron will assist Morrison in developing, refining and executing the Company's business strategy of providing integrated solutions for its global client base.
Prior to joining the Company, Ferron served as the President, Chief Executive Officer and a member of the board of directors of Helix Energy Solutions Group, Inc. He has served in various management positions for Helix since 1998, including CEO, President and Chief Operating Officer. Ferron has 28 years of worldwide experience in the oilfield industry, many of which were in senior management positions with McDermott Marine Construction and Oceaneering International Services Limited. Ferron has a Civil Engineering degree from City University, London; a Masters Degree in Marine Technology from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow; and an M.B.A. from the University of Aberdeen. Ferron is also a Chartered Civil Engineer.
