Qserv Appoints New International Operations Director
Qserv has appointed David Bowman to the new role of international operations director inline with its ambitious global growth strategy.
While it remains committed to the North Sea, the appointment is the latest step by the company to build on its strong position in the world energy market. May 2008 saw Qserv launch its Asia-Pacific bases and it is looking to move into other areas which are experiencing similar buoyant market conditions and have high levels of exploration and production predicted for the long-term future.
Bowman heads up the international team allowing the Company's UK operations to remain focussed on securing new and maintaining ongoing North Sea contracts. Mr Bowman is responsible for all aspects of Qserv’s international business outwith the North Sea including the strategic growth plans, contracting philosophy and HSEQ performance.
With more than 30 years industry experience working in the UK, Middle East, Asia-Pacific, and FSU, Bowman joins Qserv having previously served as regional director for Africa and Asia at an international oilfield service company. Having held similar senior international roles with an established oil and gas organisation, his extensive knowledge and experience will assist him in building on Qserv's already strong position internationally.
Qserv well services director, Ciaran Dreelan said, "David's appointment is crucial to our international development. He provides the necessary focus, leadership and support that will ensure we remain industry leaders in providing a quality service across the globe. His management expertise is a vital asset and his vast experience working in major energy regions will be invaluable to the Company.
"While the North Sea remains a key facet of our business activity, we recognise the importance of expanding abroad. To achieve our aim of being an industry-leading international multi-service provider, we must have a strong presence across the globe. We have identified a number of new markets and key growth areas and I am confident we are in a good position to capitalise on the many opportunities out there."
Bowman, said, "It is a very exciting time to be joining Qserv. The Company is going from strength to strength and I know I can play an important role in its growth plans. We opened our Malaysia and Indonesia bases earlier this year and establishing a tangible presence in emerging sectors is crucial to our continued success.
"Creating an international director role sends a clear signal to the industry that we will not rest on our laurels and are looking to expand. While great work was carried out before my appointment, I am eager to build what is already in place and provide a focal point and driving force for future growth."
