Triton Group Sets Up Shop in Houston with UKPS Offshore
Triton Group is ramping up its presence in the US with the launch of UKPS Offshore in Houston one year on from the acquisition of the UK company.
The expansion reflects the specialist contract personnel provider’s increased market portfolio in the region, with the operation servicing new and existing clients across the Americas.
The office, which will be led by general manager Tammy Jenkins, will be based at the 30,000sq ft Triton facility which is also home to Sub-Atlantic Inc. and Perry Slingsby Systems Inc.
Featuring a $2million training and support centre providing full ROV simulation and training for both novice and experienced pilots, technicians and engineers, the US office will be supported by the operations team in Lowestoft, Suffolk.
"We have been heavily involved in providing personnel for many major and independent operators in the industry for the past 20 years," said Andy Stewart, general manager of UKPS in Lowestoft.
"With a rising number of clients enlisting our services in the US it was clear that if we were to continue to provide the same high level of personal service we needed to establish a presence in the country."
UKPS has a strong reputation as a pro-active forward thinking organisation which tailors its service to individual clients and applicants. While growth in the US is expected to be significant, the company is also looking to develop into other key oil and gas provinces around the globe.
"The US market is very buoyant and has the potential for rapid expansion. Our growth in recent years has been significant and we are aware that a permanent base in the region will give us a world class recruitment core from which to further expand," added Stewart.
"With key skills in short supply in the subsea industry, UKPS has a distinct advantage in assisting personnel achieve the skill sets required to meet the demands of the industry. There are now many similarities to the mature North Sea market and we will be using our experience and expertise to exploit the opportunities."
Triton Group now comprises a raft of companies -- Perry Slingsby Systems, Sub-Atlantic Limited, UK Project Support Ltds, Subco, Cynergetix Pty Ltd, Dynamic Positioning Services Ltd (DPS) Geoscience Earth and Marine Services Inc (GEMS) and VisualSoft -- focused on providing state-of-the-art technology and services to the rapidly expanding international subsea oil and gas sector.
Triton Group CEO Martin Anderson said, "This latest venture is tangible evidence of our confidence in the strength of the American market where the marked rise in demand for skilled personnel has prompted us to put in place a specific offering to ensure we’re meeting that demand in the most effective way for our clients.
"This is an exciting time for everyone in the group. With this critical mass of companies we are able to develop products and services that meet real industry needs."
