ConocoPhillips Tosses FEED Contract to BGR for Work at Ekofisk Field
Bergen Group Rosenberg (BGR) has received the news that ConocoPhillips selected the Company for award of a contract for front-end engineering and design (FEED) of a new living quarters platform ConocoPhillips plans to build for the Ekofisk field.
While this contract is for engineering only, it will also allow BGR the opportunity to compete for an EPC contract for actual construction of the living quarters platform.
The contract will be carried out in a joint venture project between Bergen Group Rosenberg and their partner Ramboll Oil & Gas. Another company, Markhus AS, will also contribute significant architectural resources and expertise to the project.
The contract comprises about 55,000 engineering hours. This work will be finished in December 2008, when a complete EPC tender for construction of the new quarters platform is also to be submitted.
