Aker Yards Names New Chief Operating Officer

Tuesday, September 09, 2008Aker Yards ASA has appointed Sang-Ho Shin as Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Shin comes from a position as Vice President of STX Shipbuilding in Korea, where he has been chief for the Jinhae shipyard. Sang-Ho Shin has held several senior management positions within the STX group since 1980, and has a university education within industrial strategy and mechanical engineering.
In Aker Yards, Shin will focus on production efficiency, procurement, logistics, knowledge transfer, technology & innovation.
"We are very pleased that we get Sang-Ho Shin as COO for Aker Yards. The recruitment strengthens the corporate management and the support of the business operations," said Torstein Dale Sjotveit, CEO of Aker Yards.
