Shell Redeploys Personnel, Production to Ramp Up
Shell safely redeployed over 200 personnel September 3, 2008 to most of the Company's production and drilling assets in the Gulf of Mexico. Power and communications were either on or restored at these locations. Restart and production ramp up procedures will commence at most of these locations starting today and into the weekend. Timing of production ramp up at each facility will vary.
Remaining producing assets not manned today will receive crews today.
Complete GOM production ramp up may take a total of three to five days, assuming no issues with downstream infrastructure.
Shell also continues to monitor Hurricane Ike and its potential impact on the Gulf of Mexico.
