Scana Volda Lands Contract for Seismic Vessel Equipment

Scana Industrier ASA

Scana Volda, a wholly owned subsidiary of Scana Industrier AS, has been awarded a contract for gear, propulsion and remote control systems by Caterpillar's Norwegian representative.

The order value is NOK 24 million (EUR 3m) for delivery in 2009. The equipment is part of a combined diesel and electric propulsion system for a seismic vessel. It is characterized by combining ultimate operation flexibility and cost efficient fuel consumption.

"Scana is most satisfied to be awarded this contract as the equipment is technically advanced, innovative and environmentally friendly," Scana's CEO, Rolf Roverud, said. "It has also been important for Scana to penetrate this market segment. Our production capacity is almost fully booked, but have reserved some capacity to accept strategically important orders like this," Roverud said.
