Van Der Welle Named CFO for Stratic

Stratic Energy Corporation has announced that its Chief Financial Officer, Peter Thomas, is leaving the Company to take up a senior executive position with another oil company in Australia. Thomas, who stepped down as an officer and director of the Company yesterday, will be succeeded by John van der Welle as Chief Financial Officer and director with immediate effect.

Van der Welle has extensive experience in the oil industry over the last 25 years and has served as a main board finance director of three listed oil companies over the last 13 years. He had senior management roles in
business development and finance at Enterprise Oil plc and was Group Treasurer when he left in 1995. He served subsequently as the Finance Director of Hardy Oil & Gas plc, Premier Oil plc and First Calgary Petroleums Ltd until August 2007, followed by a period as Managing Director, Head of Oil and Gas, in the
Sector Corporate Finance group for the Royal Bank of Scotland. John qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Andersen & Co in London in 1981 and is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation and the Association of Corporate Treasurers.
