Medco Appoints Senior VP of Exploration and Development
Medco Energi US has promoted John Young to the newly-created position of senior vice president of exploration and development, President Dale Wooddy announced.
Young has more than 25 years of engineering and management experience in the oil and gas industry and has contributed to rapid and sustained growth for the companies for which he has worked.
Young previously served as manager of business development for Medco Energi US. He has also held various positions including mid-value negotiated (MVN) project manager for The Oil and Gas Asset Clearinghouse and vice president of strategic planning and business development for Baker Energy, where he led strategic planning and pioneered developments that led to dramatically increased revenues and profits.
"We are really excited to have John serving in this new capacity where he'll be able to have an even greater impact on our success than he did in his prior assignment as business development manager," said Wooddy. "The experience, expertise, leadership, enthusiasm and business acumen that John brings to the table will add tremendous value as we execute a new strategy of rapid growth."
Young earned a bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering from Texas Tech University and has been a registered professional engineer since 1986. He is also a member of the Independent Producers' Association of America (IPAA), the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), the American Petroleum Institute (API) and the Texas State Board of Professional Engineers.
