Hook-up Under Way for Rubicon Intrepid
The FPSO Rubicon Intrepid has arrived back on location at the Galoc Field offshore the Philippines to commence preparations for hook-up to the subsea mooring and riser system. Hook-up is expected to take just over a week to complete during which time weather conditions are forecast to be good. Commissioning and testing of the production facilities will then be undertaken prior to the start of production.
Overall, there has been a delay of approximately eight days due to poor weather conditions as tropical storm Cosme traversed the South China Sea. During the storm winds a the field location were estimated to be approximately 80 kph with seas of almost eight meters.
First oil from the field is now expected in early June.
