Paramed Unveils MOV Chair for Medical Evacuations
Paramed Systems announced the release and first shipment of their marine-grade Mobility Offers Versatility (MOV) chair, a fully motorized stair climbing chair to oil and gas platform operators in the Gulf of Mexico. The use of the MOV chair on drilling platforms will enable the safe and timely evacuation of emergency medical patients to the helipad platform.
Paramed developed the dual-track MOV in response to the offshore industry demands for a 500 pound capacity stair-chair capable of safe and timely stairway ascents and descents. The MOV has been designed to improve man-power efficiencies when transporting non-ambulatory patients up or down stairs and reduce the excessive evacuation time which could delay proper treatment of injured personnel. Additionally the motorized evacuation chair reduces the inherent risk of back and lower abdominal injury for the caregiver thereby decreasing possible workers compensation costs.
"We are pleased to provide a safe and timely solution for mobilizing injured personnel at offshore drilling platforms," said Nate Walkingshaw, President and CEO of Paramed Systems. "The MOV Powered Stair Chair has proven to perform exceptionally and withstand the harsh offshore environment while reducing injury risk and bottom line costs."
