BP Migas: Land Acquisitions Lead to Dec. 2008 Production for Cepu
Land acquisitions of 20 hectares needed for Cepu Block's early production have been completed and BP Migas is optimistic the area can start pumping oil in December 2008, BP Migas Vice Chairman Abdul Muin said in Jakarta on May 9.
"Our target is for Cepu production to start in December 2008 as the project is still on schedule. Land clearing for early production is done," Abdul Muin said.
Cepu is expected to pump 20,000 barrels of oil per day in its maiden production. The block may produce 165,000 bpd at its peak, which will add national oil production significantly.
The partners will continue acquire land needed for full production, Muin added. "We hope to complete all the land acquisitions in Cepu by year end," he said.
