GE Energy Introduces Innovative Formation Logging Tools at OTC
GE Energy's Oilfield Technology business, which incorporates the recent Sondex acquisition portfolio, announced today at the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) in Houston, the launch of its new Sondex Ultrawire Formation Logging Tools (U-FLT). Lane Roberts, wireline product general manager, and Phillip Hnatiuk, formation evaluation product manager led the technology presentation.
The Sondex U-FLT is the only state-of-the-art and industry accepted open hole system available for direct purchase to customers worldwide. The system offers the integration of high-end formation evaluation sensors into turnkey systems that are reliable and easy to maintain. A variety of other wireline and drilling tools manufactured and serviced by GE Energy were also on display at the presentation.
"Collecting formation information is the cornerstone of U-FLT logging, and is vital in determining the commercial viability of the well," said Jim Junker, Chief Operating Officer of the Oilfield Technology business.
