LOD Dedicates Construction, Dive-Support Vessel

Louisiana Oilfield Divers, L.L.C. (LOD) has dedicated its 8-Point Multi-Purpose Construction/Dive Support Vessel, M/V Premier Explorer. The ceremony was held April 2, 2008 in New Orleans, LA at the Hilton Riverside Hotel. Guest speakers included State Representative Jeffery Arnold and U.S.C.G. Chaplain Lee Rutledge. The vessel was sponsored by Mrs. Valerie Poole, the wife of LOD's Chairman of the Board, Mr. Sam Poole.

The M/V Premier Explorer is a US flagged, ISM & SOLAS approved, ABS classed vessel; she measures 208 ft. x 53 ft. x 13.5 ft. Her unique configuration affords, including but not limited to; accommodation for 48 persons with a custom designed client stateroom, VSAT -- Inmarsat phone with fax, internet and email, ample deck capacity, fully functional machine shop, multiple working decks, completely covered dive deck, air conditioned chamber room with 2 double lock chambers, built in dive control room, shallow and intermediate diving capabilities, mixed gas system, open bottom bell with launch and recovery system, "A" frame and 45-ton personnel rated crane. "Although very successful in her previous configuration; our recent updates to the M/V Premier Explorer further expand her extraordinary capabilities … She is, by far, the finest vessel of her type in the Gulf of Mexico," stated Daniel Babin, Vice President.
