Kuwait Oil Installations Operating Normally

KUNA

Oil and industrial installations here are safe from any danger despite the emergency the country is going through, Deeb Almetairi, a safety officer at Alshuaiba oil complex, told Radio Kuwait on Thursday.

While the Northern regions of the country are under war-time emergency conditions, the Southern parts where Alshuaiba oil installations are located remain calm, said Almetairi.

Kuwaiti crude output is running at around 2.4 million barrels per day. Kuwait said it will only close the northern fields which border Iraq, Rawdhatain and Sabriyah, if necessary. Those fields produce approximately 400,000 barrels per day.
