BHI: U.S. Rig Count Climbs Onshore and Offshore

Baker Hughes reported April 4 that the U.S. land-based rig count climbed while the offshore rig count continued to ebb and flow.

The rig count in the U.S. increased 22 rigs over last week's count, putting the current count at 1,830. The increase constitutes an increase of 104 rigs over this date last year.

Likewise, the offshore rig count for the U.S. was up this week, though the increase was only four rigs. Compared to this time last year, the U.S. offshore rig count dropped 11 rigs.

For its neighbors to the north, the weekly rig count dropped 45 to settle at 126. This rig count for Canada is unchanged compared to this date last year.
