Well Blowout Contained on Wafra Field in Kuwait

According to reports from the Kuwait News Agency, the blowout that occurred over the weekend at the Kuwait-Saudi Partitioned Neutral Zone has been contained. Emergency teams arrived immediately to cap the well. The oil well was located in the Wafra field. No injuries were reported. Operations for the onshore oil wells are jointly managed by the Kuwait Oil Company and the Saudi-Texaco Company. The onshore PNZ oil fields produce at present around 345,000 barrels per day.
