Friday, March 07, 2003
Woodside Petroleum reports that cyclone off Western Australia has caused delays of oil shipments from the Wanaea and Cossack fields. The company disconnected the Cossack Pioneer FSPO around midday on Thursday as a precautionary measure. The Cossack Pioneer FPSO produces approximately 120,000 bpd. Full production is expected to recommence on Monday. "The Cossack Pioneer is back on location and as soon as the sea calms down they will commence reconnection and they are looking at being back in full production on Monday," a Woodside spokeswoman said. Effects of the cyclone were minimal. ChevronTexaco also shut in production from its Barrow Island facility as well.
