ASCO Wins Major BP Contract in Gulf of Mexico

ASCO has been awarded a multi-year, integrated supply chain contract with BP for the provision of core supply chain services in support of BP's Gulf of Mexico deepwater activity.

The first phase of the contract commenced in February and focuses on a benchmarking exercise allowing ASCO to establish a referenceable benchmark based on BP's current operations against which the company can introduce efficiencies into BP's logistical supply chain. Phase two will commence on May 1 of this year when ASCO will undertake management of the contract and the provision of core shorebase services from its new state of the art facility in Fourchon, Louisiana.

"This is a very significant win-win for ASCO and BP and I would like to thank BP for giving us the opportunity to deliver the highest level of safety and service to BP in support of their deepwater program," says Ronnie Murphy, President of ASCO's U.S. business.

"We worked hard to win this contract, which reinforces the success of ASCO's well-established, integrated supply-chain solutions into the Gulf of Mexico," says Chris Lloyd, acting chief executive officer of ASCO plc. "We believe the potential for improved efficiencies from integrated logistics services will provide significant value to BP."
