Petrobras Announces New Guidelines for Rig Tender
|Wednesday, February 26, 2003
Petrobras has released the new guidelines for the tender of two new production rigs that will go to work in the Marlim Sul and Roncador fields in the Campos Basin area offshore Brazil. Under the new terms, companies will have to build and mount the gas compression and energy generation models for the P-51 and P-52 entirely in Brazil. Except for the turbines and compressor motors, 75 percent of the parts must be Brazilian. Parts of the hull must also be built and mounted in Brazil. The Brazilian Government said that these modifications to the existing terms would create an additional 5,000 jobs in the engineering and construction sectors. Companies will have 60 days to turn in their technical and commercial bids.
