Oseberg D Approval Welcomed by StatoilHydro
StatoilHydro ASA has received consent to use Oseberg D wells, subsea template and manifold, with associated pipelines between the template and the Oseberg Field Center, as well as newly-installed equipment on the facility.
The Oseberg Delta gas and condensate field is located about 150 kilometers west of Bergen and 8.5 kilometers southwest of the Oseberg Field Center. Water depth at the site is 102 meters.
Oseberg Delta is developed with a subsea installation with four well slots which will be tied to the Oseberg D facility at the Oseberg Field Center by means of two pipelines.
The plan for development and operation (PDO) for Oseberg Delta was approved by the King in Council on September 23, 2005, with subsequent approval in the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy on February 27, 2006.
According to StatoilHydro, expected start-up of oil production from Oseberg Delta will be on March 1, 2008, depending on progress made in drilling, commissioning and testing.
