Remedial Offshore Commences Keel Lay Operations
Remedial Offshore (Remedial Cyprus PCL) reported that keel lay operations have commenced for ESV-2, one of the next-generation offshore well intervention and service vessels it has under construction. This means the first major hull sections have been joined, with further hull block sections awaiting integration.
The vessel's spud cans are completely fabricated, along with the entire rack/chord corner posts which are welded and ready for assembly. Quarters and other components are under construction and key owner-provided items such as engines, pumps and switchgear have been delivered to COSCO. The COSCO build schedule remains on-track to deliver the vessel during the third quarter of 2008.
Remedial Offshore will operate purpose-built Elevating Support Vessels (ESVs) to facilitate production enhancement activities for existing oil & gas wells in Mature Fields offshore. The full range of ESV-based services can be performed on virtually any well in water depths up to 325 feet (100 meters).
