OPEC Crude Prices on the Skid
OPEC prices continue to fall with the price per barrel slipping another $1.37 on Jan. 23, according to officials.
The OPEC Secretariat reported that the price per barrel garnered by the cartel for Jan. 22, 2008 was $83.84, compared to $85.21 on Jan. 21.
The slide in prices has been consistent for the year. Since the start of 2008, the price per OPEC barrel has dropped nearly $10.
The price of an OPEC barrel of oil is generated by averaging that of the 12 important brands of its members.
