Seadrill Gets SE Asia Contract for $164 Million
The Seadrill jackup drilling rig West Janus has secured new employment with a major operator in Southeast Asia. The assignment has a duration of three years, and the estimated contract value is approximately U.S. $164 million.Start-up of operations is scheduled in the third quarter 2008, in direct continuation of the rig's existing contractual commitments. The rig will perform a brief yard-stay later this year to prepare the rig for the new assignment. The West Janus is currently operating offshore Malaysia.
