Leak Causes BP to Shut In 5 Wells Offshore Indonesia

BP has shut in five natural gas wells offshore East Java after discovering a leak from an elbow pipe at one of the wells. The wells are located in the Kangean area and produce a total of 80 million cubic feet of natural gas. It is estimated that the repairs will take twenty days to complete. This shutdown will reduce gas production from the from the Kangean field to 100 million cubic feet per day.
